Halloween Hairstyles 2020
I’m glad that it’s October and Halloween is on the horizon, especially for those of us in America. It’s been a stressful year and I think we could all use some stress relief in the form of a light-hearted holiday with fun traditions.
Unfortunately, especially for parents, it is not entirely stress-free. There’s still the question of whether or not trick-or-treating should happen. But I’m choosing not to think about that and instead focusing on what kind of hairstyles I could do for Halloween!
Let’s go through some recent pop culture characters and find hairstyle tutorials for them!
Nurse Ratched Hairstyle
The new Netflix show is stunning visually and I know I was very drawn to the nurse’s signature daily hairstyle. It’s a bit different from the victory rolls on the original actress in the 1970s movie. I was particularly intrigued by how large the roll in the back is.
Here is a nurse Ratched tutorial from the beloved Loepsie. Her roll in the back isn’t as big as I would want to make it but it’s a very passable rendition for a Halloween costume!
Rey Hairstyle
Star Wars never goes out of fashion and the latest rounds of movies brought us a new iconic hairstyle, Rey’s stacked buns. SilvousPlaits is a wonderful channel for all sorts of TV and movie inspired hairstyle tutorials as well as many historical styles.

Katara Avatar Hair
Avatar is having a moment again. My husband’s TikTok is non stop Avatar all the time! Here is SilvousPlaits again with a beautiful version of Katara’s distinctive hairstyle.
Shuri Black Panther Hair
Black Panther was my favorite of the Marvel movies. And it’s all the more poignant with the death of Chadwick Boseman. It’s time for Shuri to rise and take her place leading Wakanda. Here is a beautiful Shuri inspired look.
Wonder Woman
I must admit that I have not yet seen the new Wonder Woman movie! But it looks great and there’s some awesome hairstyles too. Here’s Kayley Melissa, one of my favorite youtubers, with tutorials for a variety of Wonder Woman hairstyles.
Elsa and Anna Hairstyles
In our household we are still loving Frozen and Frozen 2! I really want to get down Anna’s hairstyle with the roll around the back and the braid across the front. I’ve tried several times but one of these days I’ll get it right!

Poppy Hair from Trolls
Another franchise we are still loving is the Trolls movies! I did not expect to like a movie based on the strange dolls from my teen years. But the movies are excellent. Check out this creative way to get Poppy’s hairstyle.
