The unique scenarios Covid brings just keep on rolling out. When you’ve been lucky enough to find child care during a pandemic so you can keep your job, it makes you feel extra grateful to those hard workers. So what are some nice and thoughtful Christmas gifts you can get for those child care providers who are helping out your family during the pandemic?

Something Relaxing

Child care is hard work, as any parent knows. So in the past you might have given a gift of a spa certificate or a massage. During covid that’s not a great option, but you can still gift a spa experience at home.

A bath spa kit is a classic for a relaxing gift. I love that this one comes with a mini tub!

Gel nail kits are a way to get some self-care relaxation time with nicer results than the drug store nail polish of old. Gel nail polish cures under a UV light, making it dry quickly and last better than traditional nail polish. You can get this complete kit on Amazon for $32:

If the people taking care of your children started playing Animal Crossings along with everyone else when the pandemic first hit, find out if it’s still a go-to stress buster. If so, there’s plenty of Animal Crossings themed things that will bring a smile to their face.

Like cute little figures, stuffed animals, or a beautiful Nintendo Switch carrying case!

I mean look at this Animal Crossing themed planner! I want to start playing just so I can get it!

Adult coloring books took the world by storm a few years ago and many people are still finding relaxation in coloring. There’s a wide variety of themes for whatever your child care provider loves!

Something New To Learn

Boredom hits just about all of us in isolation. It’s a good time to learn something new and you can gift your child’s care provider with a new craft or hobby!

There’s lots of interesting craft kits that you can get on Amazon from needle felting to wood carving to crochet to building a doll house room. There’s string art and water color painting.

Something For The Phone

We’re all using our phones more than ever, I suspect. A nice accessory or upgrade for their phone could be a nice gift. For example, since going to the movies isn’t happening these days, this mini projector and speaker for a phone is a unique gift that would get plenty of use!

Something For The Kitchen

Another side effect of the pandemic is a lot of people doing more cooking and learning some cooking for the first time. There’s some fun kits for learning new things in the kitchen, such as:

Sushi Making Kit

Soup Dumpling Kit

Cheese Making Kit

Hot Sauce Making Kit

Something Personalized

A gift is the best when it shows that you really know the person you’re giving the gift to, that you are paying attention to what they like. With a gift for a teacher or day care worker you may not know them quite that well but you can probably still find a personalized gift such as these hair clips or bobby pins that have lots of themes for different interests and loves.

For a small teacher gift I plan to get these bobby pin matchbooks and add some apple bobby pins to them! So useful and thoughtful and adorable.

Or this jewelry that you can highly personalize. They’ve even got a Wonder Woman necklace!

Something Comforting

As we’ve been isolated in our homes, bringing a little outdoors in is more important than ever. A hard to kill plant like a spider plant or aloe vera plant can bring the comfort of nature in doors. Or perhaps this beginner bonsai kit from Amazon:

If you know their taste in stories you can get them a book or a board game. There are even board games that can be played solo! So if your nanny or babysitter is living on their own they can still enjoy a board game. Such as Wingspan, a well loved game that has a solo mode.

Gift Ready For 2020

I hope this list leaves you confident in a great gift for the child care providers in your life!
